BIOGRAPHY
Scott Greiner grew up in Detroit, moved to Boston to attend Berkelee College of Music, then to Chicago to study film. It was there that Scott honed his skills working with R&B, Rock, Hip Hop and House Music artists at StudioMedia, Paragon and Chicago Trax (Wax Trax) studios. There he met Liz Phair, with whom he performed on the Tonight Show.
Scott then moved to San Francisco, where he worked on recordings by Mariah Carey, Tracy Chapman, Charlie Musselwhite, AC/DC, John Lee Hooker and Carlos Santana at the famed Record Plant in Sausalito. He also opened his own studio, where he recorded and produced indie bands, including his own, 100 Watt Smile, which was nominated Best New Band by the California Music Awards and later signed to BMG.
Scott is first and foremost an engineer and producer, but he is also a talented guitar player, drummer and programmer. He has played, programmed and mixed songs for many artists including Martina McBride, Luscious jackson, The Melvins, Georgio Moroder, Chris Cox, and Billy Steinberg.
He has also written commercial music for such clients as Hewlett-Packard, Coca-Cola and Nike, and music for animated cartoon series for Disney and Nickelodeon.
